The Unity tasks for reading week were quite a 'next step' for me in the Unity tutorials. Unit 3 was quite a fun one to do. Maybe I'm just getting used to the tutorials but it feels as though they are getting clearer... phew! The first time I pressed play and was able to have my player jump over the fences I was genuinely shocked. I felt like i'd never get there, even just to be able to have a very basic game play. I was proud and it motivated me to keep going. I already want to get stuck into lesson 3.2. Cant wait to see this one come together at the end.

  GAME BRAINSTORM link My first game idea is inspired by the game of life. Personally I wouldn't be interested in playing shooting games, or building games(e.g. Minecraft). So I thought because of this I shouldn't really consider trying to make one if these types of games. Something more suited to me would be a happy game ☺️. I thought of the game of life because I really enjoy the board game version. I particularly enjoy the fact that every time you play you end up with a different story/life. I also enjoy the fact that you can't choose the story like in The Sims for example. The game of life involves spinning the wheel and moving to that square, whatever square you land on is the life milestone you get.   link Flow Theory, Game Decisions  Game flow, or good game flow rather is when a player becomes so immersed in a game they almost loose track of time and concept of life around them. Ok ... bit dramatic lol. But we've all been there when a game gets so good, you're winning challenges or you're about to beat your high score and it feels like it's just you and your screen. That's some good game flow.  Flow is a fundamental skill to create an engaging experience.  Being in flow state can be seen as being at peak engagement with an activity, the idea being that an  engaged player will want to consume more of the game, apposed to a disinterested player who may abandon it.  The challenge in the game needs to be slightly harder than the players amount of skill to be able to have them in a flow state, or a hyper focused state. Reading 4 - Analysis

  Reading 4 - week 16(4) Analysis For reading task 4, I took my research to the next stage. I am starting to delve into what information I want in my chapter.  I began with going back to my ‘search strategy’ spiderweb, looking at keywords and articles I had noted. I have read and learned about the online game streaming platform ‘Twitch’, as I feel like since being the first streaming platform it will be very relevant for my research.  A part of my search strategy I wrote out synonyms for the key words in my topic title. As I am researching all about the benefits of game streaming, I didn’t forget about  another benefit of game streaming …. Profit! In the article I read about Twitch, there was sufficive information about the start-up and success of Twitch.
